1. But there are no walks near me?
We're new! Walks are being created by people who love exploring and helping others explore. If you're inspired, please help other players and Create a Walk. Soon enough, walks will be everywhere!
2. How do I Create a Walk?
Go outside and click "I'm at Start" to choose your start location. Go for a walk, and click "Add Quiz" every time you see something that's interesting and permanent. Keep adding Quizzes as you walk and when you're ready for the walk to return to where you started, click "Done". Then, share with your friends, so they could take your walk!
3. Can I play on Android?
Currently, we're only on iPhone. In the future, we'll build an Android version. We're also exploring Windows.
4. Can I play on iPod touch?
Currently, the iPod touch only supports GPS using wifi. For now, you can only play on the iPhone.
5. I click the compass icon and it doesn't show me what direction I am walking.
Currently, we do not have this feature built into the app. We would like to build this later, so stay tuned!
6. How come the blue dot is not always accurate or it disappears?
This can happen, especially in an area with a bad signal or a lot of buildings or trees. As more satellites come into or out of the line-of-sight the phone makes corrections.
7. The app crashed, what can I do to fix this?
Try turning your phone all the way off and then on again. If the app still crashes, please let us know so we can fix the problem.
8. Why does the mileage sometimes go backwards when I create a walk?
When you create a walk, the app does not add the mileage you walk. Instead, it adds the mileage for the person who will take the walk you are creating. The app is adding the distance from where you are now to where you asked your last Quiz. This way, you know how far you'll be asking others to walk!
9. How do I download the app?
The app can be downloaded by going to iTunes or on our website,www.MobileAdventureWalks.com.
10. What are Explorer Points?
Explorer points are calculated as you progress through walks. You will earn points as you walk and answer questions correctly. Later, your points will add up and you will be able to use them for different things.
11. I can't see where to go after I start to Take a Walk.
When you Take a Walk, you can see where to Start. Click, "I'm Here!" and your next location will appear. If you can't see your location, try to squeeze the map to make it zoom out so you can see the next pin. The next location will keep appearing as you answer the questions along the way.
